A Visit to a Hill Station Essay in 200 Words

Introduction :

The day was 23rd August. We were on our way to Leh Ladakh and We were a group of 10 people. We started from Patnitop in two jeeps. And we were all college friends and Leh Ladakh was our first trip together. That day morning at 6 am we started our journey and decided to spend our night in a place between Patnitop and Leh Ladakh. Slowly the sun shone brightly and the climate was pleasant. we started early because our driver told us that if we are late the bright sunlight will melt the glaciers and the level of water of the water crossings will go up which will lead to a huge problem. Gradually our jeeps kept crawling up the hills .

We were mesmerized by the beauty of the road. On the left there were huge mountains and on the other side steep slope was present. As we moved up the temperature dropped and the place became more scenic. Another notable change was there which was that the color of the hills turned from green to white. vegetation was becoming thinner as well as the air. We stopped for lunch at 2pm. Then continued our journey till the daylight gave way to the night. We stepped out of the vehicle and helped each other in setting up the tents. We were carrying five tents. It became even more dark silently. It was around 8 o, clock in the night we lighted fire and sat encircling it.

Visit to a Hill Station in Morning time :

We were conversing with each other and at times our drivers were sharing their driving experiences over years on these treacherous roads. We also made plans for the next day. It was around 9:15pm when we completed our dinner and returned to our tents. The spot we chose for the night stay was a wide valley, which had mountains on every sides.

Within hundred meters from where we had put our tents flowed a river. The beauty of nature that I witnessed that day was incredible. My friends felt asleep. I was wide awake watching the hide and seek of the moon behind the huge mountains. The valley was drenched with the moon light. The view was intoxicating. The view made me realize that the nature there is so pure that witnessing it can wash away all our sins. The distant rumble of the flowing water of the river worked as lullaby. I am unaware, when I had fallen asleep that night. Next morning tound myself inside the sleeping bag and the diary on my side which still contains the note l just shared.

Essay On A Visit to a Shimla Hill Station in 300 Words

I love visiting hilly places as it makes me feel fresh and happy. It was summer vacation in my school, so I planned to go to Shimla, the famous hill station of Himachal Pradesh with my family. Shimla is a very beautiful place surrounded by hills and natural beauty. Shimla is also one of the attractive tourist destinations of India.

I, my parents and my younger siblings were very eager to go to Shimla. To reach Shimla, we got our seats reserved in the bus/train and we left for Shimla. After traveling for a few hours, we reached our destination.

Papa had booked the hotel even before we knew Shimla, so we went straight to the hotel from the station. After lunch and rest at the hotel, we left for Shimla by car (cab). A wonderful view of white snow mountains, white clouds in the sky and lush green trees and plants was visible from the car window. We were all rejoicing seeing the beautiful view of nature spread all around. There was moisture in the air here which was giving a very pleasant feeling to our heart and mind.

After getting down from the car, we went to play in the snow. There we were playing with each other by making snowballs and also having fun by hitting each other with snowballs. We also enjoyed ice skating there.

For four days we roamed and enjoyed in the beautiful plains of Shimla. We all took a many of pictures of the beautiful hills there and also took pictures of our fun. After visiting Shimla for four days, we came back home by train/bus. This trip to Shimla was one of the most memorable moments for all of us.

Introduction :

Who doesn’t the mountains attract? The pleasure of spending a fews of days in a hilly place is unique. Last year, during the summer vacations, I had the opportunity to go to Soudaryadham on Mount Abu with my father.

beauty of travel :

We traveled by train till Abu Road. From Abu Road, we boarded a Rajasthan Transport Corporation bus to reach Mount Abu. My heart little skipped a beat when I saw Mount Abu from a distance. Our bus was moving slowly on its serpentine route. On one side there were high piles of rocks, and on the other side there were rugged deep ditches. The lush green scenery and the cool breeze were giving a unique pleasure to the mind.

Accommodation :

After crossing a lot of height, our bus stopped near Raghunath temple. At that time it was nine o’clock in the morning. Matadors, jeeps and cars were running on the roads. Signboards of tourist guide centres, hotels and tourist accommodation were put up everywhere. We also landed in a lodge. Dad had already reserved a room there.

Jain Temples of Dilwara :

After lunch and rest we went to visit the famous and historical Dilwara Temple of Abu. We were stunned to see those temples. The empire of art was spread all around. After catching our train from Lucknow, we reached our destination after about 12 hours. Dad had already booked the hotel there so he came to the station to pick us up in the hotel car. Everyone was tired from the train journey, so after reaching the hotel, everyone decided to take some rest first, and later made up their mind to visit each place one by one.

First of all we decided to visit the place ‘Sir George Everest’. This place was a little far from our hotel, but enjoying the greenery and weather on the way, the mind became happy, and we all reached there. The first thing we saw on reaching there was Sir George’s house. This place was situated in the Himalayas and Doon hills. From here we got a wonderful view of the hills. We all clicked some pictures of the hills here and also our own which is one of the best memorable moments for us.

Visited Lal Tibba :

After this we visited Lal Tibba, the highest point of Mussoorie. From here we had the pleasant experience of seeing Kedarnath and other hills with the help of binoculars. Camel Road is a beautiful natural formation, it looks exactly like a camel’s hump and could be walked on quite easily. We spent some time here and also took some pictures. Here we visited the temple of Nag Devta, a famous temple of Lord Shiva. Kempty Falls is such a picturesque place where one gets to see a beautiful and picturesque view of the waterfalls falling from the mountains. It was the best feeling to see it.

Seeing such a charming and mind-blowing sight, my heart fell in love with him. I had absolutely no desire to return from there, but everyone told us to go to other places. Then from there we came to see the beautiful lake of Mussoorie, the lake was also very picturesque. Clear water and greenery between the mountains on one side and some hotels etc. to stay on the other side attracted my mind. I took a boat ride in the lake and took a view of the beautiful valleys from there. It all seemed like a dream to me. Finally we went to visit ‘Dhanaulti’ and we saw the view of snow covered hills from there and also took some pictures, after that we left for our hotel and enjoyed the view of nature on the way.

Journey’s End :

We reached our hotel and had a sumptuous dinner and all went to their respective rooms. I was walking in the balcony of the hotel remembering the beautiful plains of Mussoorie and enjoying the night view around the hotel from there. I didn’t even know how a week passed in the beautiful plains of Mussoorie. It was the last day of our journey, but still my mind was not ready to leave from here.
